Hybrid publisher LifeTree Media has signed Keri Ohlrich, PhD, and Monica Frede for their upcoming business book The Way of the HR Warrior: Leading the CHARGE to Transform Your Organization and Career. The book is scheduled to publish in the fall of 2018.
With 20 years of experience as HR leaders working for small organizations, startups and Fortune 500 companies, Ohlrich and Frede believe that Human Resources has immense power to affect an organization’s bottom line as well as its culture — but they admit that it gets a bad rap, partly owing to lack of vision or positive role models among HR professionals. In The Way of the HR Warrior they aim to inspire an HR revolution. Through their CHARGE framework, they share their tough-love approach to developing the core skills needed by HR professionals to become HR Warriors.
This inspiring and instructive system will help readers to see the potential impact they can have on their organizations and their own careers, identify areas for growth, and create an actionable growth plan. Alongside the practical advice in the book, readers will find real-life stories from Ohlrich and Frede about how they have applied the CHARGE principles in their own careers and organizations to great effect. Witty and brutally honest, this book is for anyone who makes HR their business.
Ohlrich is the CEO of Abbracci Group, following leadership positions at EcoSense Lighting, Quad/Graphics, ManpowerGroup, Exxceed, among others. She holds several degrees including a PhD in Human Development and Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University. Frede has served as an HR Strategic Consultant and HR Manager at several Fortune 1000 companies, including ManpowerGroup and Quad/Graphics. She embarked on a recruiting career to dive deeper into the mindset and approach to attracting and hiring top talent within large organizations. The Way of the HR Warrior is their first book.
LifeTree is proud to partner with Ohlrich and Frede to develop and publish their book. “When Keri and Monica approached us with their book idea, we knew that we had so much more than a conventional business book on our hands,” says LifeTree CEO and Publisher Maggie Langrick. “The warmth, humour (and just a touch of sass) in their writing is sure to make for a fun and entertaining reading experience, while their proactive and pragmatic approach to human resources will be invaluable to ambitious HR professionals who really want to make a difference in their organizations. LifeTree is proud to have this special book on our publishing list.”
